How to install fonts

To install fonts, first things first: you need to choose one you like.  Perhaps a cursive font or a grunge font.
Got one?  Ok.  Next you will click the “download” button.

And this is where we will split up the PC Users from the Mac users.

How To Install Fonts for Mac users

You guys have it easy.  After you click download, the file will pop up in your download window.
Double-click it.
Another pop-up window will appear with the font file.
Double-click that.
One more pop-up window appears with a button on the bottom right that says “install font”.
You’re done.

How To Install Fonts for PC Users

After you click download, a zip file window will pop up containing your new fonts.  Don’t touch them yet.
Go to your start menu > settings > control panel > fonts.
Open the two menus side by side.
Drag the font file (it will end in .ttf or .otf) from the zip folder into the fonts folder.
Done!

STEP 1 : Uninstall MyWebSearch from your computer

STEP 2 : Remove the MyWebSearch residual damage from your browser

Remove MyWebSearch from Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer,then click on the gear icon  (Tools for Windows XP users) at the top (far right) and click again on Internet Options.
   
2. Now in the Internet Options dialog box, click on the Advanced tab, click Reset.
   
3. In the Reset Internet Explorer settings section. Click Reset again in the information dialog box.
   
4. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting, click Close in the confirmation dialogue box and then click OK.
5. Close and open Internet Explorer again.

Remove MyWebSearch from Mozilla Firefox

1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help sub-menu (on Windows XP, click the Help menu at the top of the Firefox window) and select Troubleshooting Information.
   
2. Click the Reset Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.
   
3. To continue, click Reset Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
4. Firefox will close and be reset. When it’s done, a window will list the information that was imported. Click Finish and Firefox will open. That’s it – you’re done!

Remove MyWebSearch from Google Chrome

1. Remove MyWebSearch extensions from Google Chrome.
   Click the Chrome menu  on the browser toolbar,select Tools and then click on Extensions.In the Extensions tab,remove (by clicking on the Recycle Bin) the MyWebSearch extension from your computer.
   
   Please keep in mind that on some computers, this program might have added a different named extension (YouTube Downloader Toolbar, WXDownloadFast, PDF Source Forge Toolbar, IObit toolbar, StartNow Toolbar or RewardsArcade,New Tab), so if you can’t find MyWebSearch on your list,then carefully look for any suspicious program and remove it from your Google Chrome.
2. Replace the MyWebSearch with Google as default search engine.
   Click the Chrome menu  ,then select Setttings and click on Manage search engines in the Search section.
   Select MyWebSearch from the list and click the X that appears at the end of the row, then select Google (Default) from the list and make it your default search engine.
   
3. Set Google Chrome to open your favorite web page at startup.
   MyWebSearch has modified your Google settings to open their webpage whenever you start your browser, so we will need to revert this change.
   Click the Chrome menu  ,then select Setttings and in the click on One the New Tab page in the On Startup section.

STEP 3: Remove MyWebSearch registry keys with AdwCleaner.

1. You can download AdwCleaner from the below link.
   ADWCLEANER DOWNLOAD LINK (This link will automatically download AdwCleaner on your computer)
2. Before starting this utility,close all open programs and internet browsers.
3. Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
4. Click on Delete,then confirm each time with Ok.
   
5. Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
6. NEXT,double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
7. Click on Uninstall,then confirm with yes to remove this utility from your computer.

STEP 4: Run a computer scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

1. You can download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free from the below link,then double click on it to install this program.

How to Use Windows 8 Compatibility Mode to Run Old Programs

The leap from Windows 7 to Windows 8 introduced a handful of compatibility issues with software and drivers. Most of these issues can be fixed by using the Windows 8 compatibility mode. The Windows compatibility mode has seen few changes since its inception but is a more useful tool in Windows 8.
Windows 8 compatibility mode works for EXE installers as well as driver installation packages. Standalone drivers are hit and miss when it comes to compatibility mode. You still need the right version for your OS. If you’re using Windows 8 64-bit, you can’t install a 32-bit program or driver; you must have a 64-bit version for compatibility mode to work.

Using Windows 8 compatibility mode

When you have an EXE installer or driver you want to use in compatibility mode, right-click on it and then click “Properties.”

Click on the “Compatibility” tab.

Note: If the tab isn’t there, the driver or EXE is not able to be used in Windows 8 compatibility mode.
There are three sections to compatibility mode: Compatibility mode, Settings and Privilege level.
Compatibility mode lets you choose how to run an EXE or initialize a driver installer. You can choose anything from Windows 95 to Windows 7. You want to choose the Windows OS that the program was designed to run on.

Settings lets you change the display settings. This can be beneficial because not all older programs are capable of running on modern displays.

Privilege level lets you choose to run the EXE or driver as an administrator. Most installers need to be run as an administrator to have permission to start.
If you have this information about your EXE, you can use the compatibility tab to set up how it operates. If not, you’ll want to use the compatibility troubleshooter to try and figure out what details you need to run it in Windows 8.

Using the compatibility troubleshooter

The compatibility troubleshooter can be accessed from the compatibility tab or by right-clicking an EXE and clicking “Troubleshoot compatibility.”

You can test the EXE in one of two ways: Trying recommended settings or troubleshooting its behavior.
Click “Try recommended settings” if you are not sure how to configure the settings in the compatibility tab.

This’ll take a few minutes for Windows to find what it thinks is the right settings. Click “Test the program…” to see if these settings work.

No matter what happens, click “Next.”

Windows will ask what happened. If the settings worked, click “Yes.” If not, click “No, try again…” to have Windows re-calibrate the settings. If you try multiple configurations, click “No, report the problem…” to try and troubleshoot the EXE’s compatibility online.
If you try different settings, Windows will ask a variety of questions to try and figure out what settings need to be changed.

It will then ask you to try the new settings it configures from your answers.
If these settings still don’t work, it’s possible that you may see this message:

This means the EXE or installer is completely incapable of being used in Windows 8, even in compatibility mode.

Conclusion

Windows 8 compatibility mode won’t work on all programs or drivers, but it can be utilized to see if it can. If you’re not sure about a particular driver or program, try the Windows 8 compatibility mode and troubleshooter to see if it’ll work for your PC.
